icilian cookery is very much embedded in the history of the island. Various civilizations – Greek, Roman, Arabs, Normans, Spanish, and British – have left their mark. From a gastronomic point of view, the influence of these invaders is still very much in evidence today.

We organise holidays to Sicily during Spring and Autumn – the best times of year to be there. It will be comfortable without the extreme heat of mid-summer and without getting too cool in the evenings.

Where you are going to stay

Villa Carrubo is located in the south east of Sicily, which is known for its stunning baroque architecture. With its elegant stone building which has recently undergone meticulous renovation, it also benefits from a swimming pool with Jacuzzi and various patio terraces with stunning views.

The tour itinerary for our Sicilian Cooking Holiday:
Day 1 – Sunday: You will be transferred to the villa where you can settle in, meet your chef and host and enjoy welcome drinks. Dinner this evening is at the villa, prepared by your chef.

Day 2 – Monday: After breakfast you will have your first cookery lesson with your chef, followed by lunch. You are free in the afternoon to relax at the beautiful Villa Aragonese. Dinner is served at the villa.

Day 3 – Tuesday: Today we visit the coastal town of Siracusa and have lunch in a local restaurant in the old part of the city, Ortigia. You will have some more time to explore after lunch. We then travel to Noto to taste the local ice cream at a classic Gelateria. Dinner tonight is prepared by your chef.

Day 4 – Wednesday: After breakfast you will be in the kitchen for your second cooking lesson with the chef and enjoy the results for lunch. This afternoon you will have free time to relax. Early evening, we will enjoy a private wine tasting at a local vineyard, in the very South of Sicily then visit Marzamemi, a village famous for catching tuna fish for a classic Italian “passeggiata”

Day 5 – Thursday: After breakfast, enjoy another hands-on cookery lesson and lunch at the villa. This afternoon is free to relax by the pool. Dinner tonight is prepared by your chef.

Day 6 – Friday: This morning you will enjoy another cooking lesson before heading to Modica to taste its famous chocolate from a local producer. You can then explore the stunning town of Ragusa, where we will have an evening meal at our favourite local restaurant.

Day 7 – Saturday: Following breakfast, you will have your final cookery lesson then lunch. Enjoy your last afternoon relaxing at the villa and in the evening a special farewell dinner prepared by your chef.

Day 8 – Sunday: After breakfast our transfer will collect you and take you back to Catania Airport for your flight home.
